Speech 2016

Pocket money should be earned

Does your child/children get money for just sitting there while you do all the jobs around the house, that wrong! Children should get off their butts and earn some cold hard cash, the real way. At my house it’s earn it or get nothing. How much do you earn?

Children need to be prepared before their adulthood,
because there parents won’t be there to clean up after them every time they make a mess. They need to clean it up, not their parents. Your parents won’t be there to give you money to pay your bills, and buy you things.  Do you agree?

Children should earn their money, because money doesn't grow
off trees!. It’s earned. Parents don’t just sit there and money just appears, they go out and work for it so they can pay bills and keep a roof over your head. They don’t just work for money to give it away.

Look at the kids in Asia, they  swim in some of the dirtiest  rivers in the world to clean them up. They only earn 20c a week too!. This hardly feeds a family. Then there’s kids in rich countries they just sit there and get given a fortune. Which I think is unfair for poor people that get little to nothing a week for cleaning the house.

If you lived in my house you have to earn your money, you can’t just sit there and get given $30 in my house you have to earn it. You can’t survive if you have no money. Nothing is free these days.

Pocket money is a luxury it prepares you for adulthood.
Makes you work for your money and earn it and Shows you how easy it is to earn it. Plus it is fun. Working for things isn’t very hard .
Therefore children should be grateful for what the are given. Get some inspiration from the kids in Asia who work for peanuts and for ME - Sometimes I clean
up without being asked, and I don’t expect a reward.
